{"id":2111,"date":"2013-11-14T17:13:10","date_gmt":"2013-11-14T17:13:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.brucethomas.co.uk\/?p=2111"},"modified":"2014-08-20T13:47:20","modified_gmt":"2014-08-20T12:47:20","slug":"the-band-that-prog-remembers-a-little","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.brucethomas.co.uk\/?p=2111","title":{"rendered":"The Band That Prog Remembers (a little)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brucethomas.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Cloudsc.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2125\" title=\"Cloudsc\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brucethomas.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Cloudsc.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"152\" \/><\/a>Following on from my earlier post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brucethomas.co.uk\/?p=2022\">The Band That Prog Forgot\u2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I just got an e-mail from Clouds organist, Billy Ritchie (r).\u00a0 Apparently, on his website,\u00a0Jon Anderson of Yes has finally acknowledged (a little) the vital role Clouds played in the inception of Prog Rock \u2014 and in the careers of the many who embraced it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Clouds were very important in those early years.\u00a0 I remember them performing Paul Simon&#8217;s <\/strong><em><strong>America<\/strong><\/em><strong> at a Marquee concert and at a gig in <\/strong><strong>Wales<\/strong><strong>.\u00a0 As you know Yes eventually performed the song, I still do today in my solo concerts. Those far off days were very open and exciting. I did have dreams of all those bands touring together on a bus \u2026great music, great times of innocence.\u00a0 <\/strong><strong><em>Jon Anderson (Yes)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As Billy himself adds:\u00a0<strong>Only forty years too late!
